Russellville Skatepark is about to get some much needed improvements. Thanks to Drew Wilson, an avid skateboarder and community member who realized how underused the park was when he first moved here in 2021. Realizing the park was a bit too advanced for your average skater he knew changes were needed and that he could be the one to help bring them to life.

After meeting and teaming up with city officials to see what could be done, they came up with beginner friendly features, getting a new bathroom, and a water area. This project has been in the works for nearly 3 years and it has truly been a labor of love.
Though they have acquired a grant to cover most of the cost (nearly $240,000 worth) they are now in the final stages of fundraising the remaining $50k. This is where you come in. Time for the community to buy in to this improvement. Literally. Drew even personally donated $5,000 because he believes in this project and the benefits it can have for kids and adults in our community.
So whether you're a skater at heart, or just someone who loves when the community has a new place to experience - we hope you can find some money to toss to this amazing project.
From their donation page: "Our skatepark is getting some much-needed upgrades, like ADA-accessible restrooms and a beginner-friendly skate section so more people can roll with us. But we’re not stopping there. We want to add a pavilion to chill under, a People’s Wall to rep our mad art skills, picnic tables, and a full park revitalization to make this spot the best hangout in town.
This is our place to skate, progress, and connect — and with your help, we can build something that represents the heart of the skate community in Russellville. Kick in what you can and let’s make our park the kind of place we’re proud to call home."
